DC Studios has released the first teaser for its latest blockbuster movie, “Black Adam.” The film’s star Dwayne Johnson appears to play a very important role.

Fans of The Rock were not able to contain their excitement as they witnessed a 2-minute clip that showed him in his new role. His character is described as “ambiguous” and has godlike powers, which will make for an interesting storyline.

The trailer for “Black Adam” hints at a connection between Pierce Brosnan’s role as Dr. Fate and the character played by Johnson in the film. The voiceover featuring Brosnan’s voice says Johnson has two choices: to destroy the earth or save it.

Directed by Jaume Collet-Serra, this movie features a warrior who is reborn in the modern world. The 5,000-year-old superhuman has the ability to fly and has immense strength that allows him to punch through walls, lift heavy objects, and withstand impacts from exploding rockets.

With just a short video, fans were able to enjoy a sneak peek into this warrior’s past. It was revealed that the Black Adam was one who had been enslaved and imprisoned in a tomb for five millennia.

Aldis Hodge, Noah Centineo, and Quintessa Swindell will also appear in the film, aside from Johnson.

Meanwhile, Johnson thanks his supporters for the hype they’re bringing the production. “Your unwavering support and relentless excitement for this passion project of mine has meant the world to me. Now it’s my turn to deliver for you. The hierarchy of power in the DC Universe is changing,” he wrote in an Instagram post.

The debut of Johnson as Black Adam is an exciting prequel to DC’s plot, which positions him against a character from the DC universe, Shazam, played by Zachary Levi.

“As a kid, Superman was the hero I always wanted to be. But, a few years into my fantasy, I realized that Superman was the hero I could never be. I was too rebellious. Too rambunctious. Too resistant to convention and authority,” Johnson added.

When asked to describe his character, Johnson says that Black Adam is “blessed by magic with the powers equal to Superman, but the difference is he doesn’t toe the mark or walk the line. He’s a rebellious, one of a kind superhero who’ll always do what’s right for the people — but he does it his way.”

Fans will get to see the film in the cinemas starting October 21.
