Ant-Man has a long journey ahead of him.
In addition to the returning cast, Jonathan Majors’ Kang the Conqueror will make his MCU debut in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumia.
Kang is a time-traveling villain and the bane of many Marvel heroes in the comics, and his appearance in the film could mean the Ant-Man series will delve deeper into the realms of time travel and the multiverse.
The teaser also offers a glimpse into the Quantum Realm, the world of subatomic particles where Scott Lang first discovered his shrinking power. It’s a place of great power and potential, and it’s been hinted that the quantum realm could play a bigger role in the next film.
The prospect of quantum computing, a cutting-edge technology that could transform industries like medicine, finance, and even national security, is one of the most thrilling aspects of the Quantum Realm.
Quantum computing remains in its infancy, but the possibilities are endless.
The Quantum Realm has also been hinted at as key to the storyline of the larger Marvel Cinematic Universe, and the film will likely tie in with larger MCU events and upcoming Disney+ series.
In addition, Quantum Realm has previously been referenced in Doctor Strange, Avengers: Endgame, and WandaVision. So, it is clear that Marvel has big plans for this mysterious and powerful place.
Director Peyton Reed seems to be delivering on his promise to make the third Ant-Man movie an undeniably epic experience.
“People felt like, Oh, these are fun little palate cleansers after a gigantic Avengers movie,” Reed said in December. “For this third one, I said, ‘I don’t want to be the palate cleanser anymore. I want to be the big Avengers movie.'”

Ant-Man Actors
Some cherished franchise members, such as Michael Douglas’ Hank Pym and Michelle Pfeiffer’s Janet van Dyne, are back in Quantumania.
Fans can look forward to seeing these characters back in action and seeing how they fit into the story. In addition to these returning characters, Freaky’s Kathryn Newton has also joined the cast as Scott’s now-adult daughter Cassie Lang.
This is a fresh addition to the cast and fans are thrilled to see what kind of dynamic Newton brings to the film.
But perhaps the most intriguing addition to the cast is Jonathan Majors as Kang, a nefarious villain from the comics. Kang is expected to play a major role throughout Phase 5 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and fans can expect to see him causing trouble for Scott throughout the film.
Majors first appeared in the MCU as “He Who Remains” in the Disney+ series Loki, and fans can look forward to seeing him in action in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania and in 2025’s Avengers: The Kang Dynasty.
The trailer provides a hint of the action that is to come and shows Kang delivering quite the beating to Scott.
Reed previously teased that Kang will be a formidable villain in the upcoming film Quantumania.
“It struck me as interesting to take the tiniest Avengers — in some people’s minds, maybe the least powerful Avengers — and put them up against the most powerful force in the multiverse,” he elaborated.
Villainous Film
The recently released trailer for the upcoming Ant-Man film, Quantumania, has given fans a sneak peek at what’s to come and it looks like the film is going to be an epic and action-packed addition to the MCU.
The trailer also revealed the first peek at another classic comics villain: MODOK, the floating head who will be making his live-action debut for the first time.
MODOK, which stands for “Mental Organism Designed Only for Killing,” is a villain who first appeared in the comics in 1967.
He is a mechanical and genetically-engineered being created by A.I.M. with super-intelligence, telepathy, and psychic powers and has long been a fan favorite among comics readers.
The appearance of MODOK in the film means that fans can expect to see a lot more of the character in the future, and it is a sign that the MCU is willing to embrace the more fantastical elements of the comics.
Marvel Studios has yet to reveal who’s playing MODOK, but there’s a brief shot of him without his helmet in the trailer and many fans seem to think that he bears resemblance to Corey Stoll, who portrayed original Ant-Man villain Darren Cross in the first film.
However, this is unconfirmed and it will be exciting to see how this character is fleshed out in the film.

How It May Unfold
MODOK’s inclusion in the film is one of the highlights. The villain has been known for his comedic element and it will be interesting to see how Reed and the team include that in the story.
The film promises to bring innovation and new development in shrinking technology as well as the Quantum realm, the story seems to be a blend of comedy and action and the addition of MODOK is expected to bring another level of humor to the film.
Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, the highly anticipated third installment of the Ant-Man franchise, is set to hit theaters on February 17th.
The film is directed by Reed and stars Paul Rudd as Scott Lang/Ant-Man, Evangeline Lilly as Hope Van Dyne/Wasp, and Michael Douglas as Hank Pym.
Furthermore, the cast includes David Dastmalchian as Veb, Katy O’Brian as Jentorra, William Jackson Harper as Quaz and in an exciting surprise addition, Bill Murray will be seen in a role as Lord Krylar.
