McDonald’s Teams Up with Streetwear Brand for a Happy Meal, This Time it’s for Adults

With its newly released adult Happy Meal, one of the world’s largest fast food businesses, McDonald’s, hopes to attract older customers. Furthermore, a toy is included in the kit.

McDonald’s said it would release offerings geared toward adults while maintaining the playful nature of the Happy Meal, which is largely packed in red cardboard boxes, as the firm attempts to add some tweaks to its standard offers. So naturally, McDonald’s is not the only business taking the initiative.

McDonald’s hooks up with a well-known streetwear brand for the Cactus Plant Flea Market Box bundle, which will be offered to all participating locations on October 3.

The Chief Marketing Officer of McDonald’s USA, Tariq Hassan, said, “We’re taking one of the most nostalgic McDonald’s experiences and literally repackaging it in a new way that’s hyper-relevant for our adult fans.”

“I can’t wait to give fans a unique piece of art and culture as we dive headfirst into the dynamic world of Cactus Plant Flea Market together next week. With menu favorites like the Big Mac and McNuggets at the center of this collab, this is another way we’re reigniting a new generation’s love for our food and the brand.”

McDonald’s stated in a press release:

The Cactus Plant Flea Market Box, a first-of-its-kind collaboration made exclusively for McDonald’s fans by one of the most important brands in culture. 

It all starts with the box, which has been totally redesigned in Cactus Plant Flea Market’s signature style alongside McD’s iconic Golden Arches. 

The box will be available in-restaurant, in the drive-thru, by delivery or on the McDonald’s App starting October 3, while supplies last.

The new offer differs from the Happy Meal

Smaller menus were available for kids to eat in the original Happy Meal. However, McDonald’s opted to include additional items in the box, such as a Big Mac or ten pieces of McNuggets, because the adult Happy Meal is intended for older people. There are coke and fries with the main meal.

In addition, the collectibles are perhaps the best part of any Happy Meal. One of four collectible figurines is included in each Cactus Plant Flea Market Box for fans to enjoy. The McDonald’s mascots Hamburglar, Birdie, Grimace, and Cactus Body, have all been included in this edition.

The present agreement is McDonald’s first effort to work with brands, despite the fast food giant being known for its ambitious and major collaborations. Those who remember the company’s past work with the popular K-Pop boy band BTS would recall that McDonald’s successfully raised billions of dollars for its Famous Orders campaign thanks to the musicians.

A menu developed for artist Travis Scott was also introduced by McDonald’s two years prior. However, numerous outlets ran out of stock due to the package’s popularity among music fans.

In line with the partnership, McDonald’s will also sell apparel and other items from Cactus Plant Flea Market, the official partner.
