BionicWP: The only truly managed WordPress platform for agencies

Every entrepreneur knows that websites are the faces of their businesses. With more than 4.9 billion users roaming the ether in search of quality services, a decent website goes a long way in helping businesses flourish. Having a well-developed and curated website makes not only the user experience a smooth, enjoyable thing- it also leaves a mark on visitors. When it comes to design, people want a website that’s easy to navigate, and easy on the eyes. No one wants to come across a website that’s “user hostile” in the way websites sometimes do, whether intentional or unintentional. We’ve all experienced these in one way or another. Some of these “user hostile” tactics include making it difficult for users to leave the site, or having intrusive ads that get in the way of visitors trying to navigate to where they want to go.

In fact, making a website that leaves a lasting impression is the mark of a well-designed brand. It shows the concern and thoughtfulness behind a brand- that it’s not as simple as it looks on the surface. It leaves people with a refreshing feeling when they see that brands are not as simple as they look, and drives intrigue as well as attention to the brand itself.

However, the downside of making an irresistible brand is the fact that one wrong move can ruin your customer’s experience, thus affecting brand loyalty. So, how do you one-up your competition and win the battle of organic lead generation?

We conducted a thorough analysis of all available managed WordPress hosting providers – and though it was a close win, BionicWP came out on top.

So we sat down with the Founder & CEO Michael Borgelt, and quizzed him on his approach to WordPress hosting and how he created one of the best-managed hosting agencies in a short span of two years.

When asked what he had done differently from his competitors, Michael said, “It’s not like it’s the first time I’ve done this. I’ve been dabbling in websites and digital marketing for years with 51Blocks – my white-label marketing agency. So I just used my experience and intuition to do and sometimes not do what my competitors were doing.”

Michael also informed us how he came across the idea of creating a managed hosting agency by saying, “BionicWP was founded because I love site speed and hosting.  I tested 42 different hosting platforms in hopes of finding a good partner to host 51Blocks, 400+ websites at the time.  I never found it.  We now provide what was missing in the market.  We believe that saying things like “go talk to your developer” is taboo, and we really try and fix any issues that exist on our customers’ websites, whether they ask us to or not. If – for some reason – we can’t help them, we point them in the right direction because customer satisfaction is just as important as providing quality services. We also do more than other companies out there, like manually updating the core, theme, plugins – whereas other companies just put it on auto-update.”

He further explained, “Our main focus at BionicWP is speed optimization. Clients come to us for our ability to speed up their website and deliver quick results on the Google Page Speed Insights tool. Another aspect of our approach is curated customer support, where we do our best to meet deadlines.”

As the conversation took a lighter turn, we asked him about his plans for the future of BionicWP, to which he replied, “When I was a kid, my mother used to make me visualize whatever it was I wanted to achieve, and even after all these years, I still do that. I want both my companies – BionicWP and 51Blocks, to become industry leaders. I know I’ve already come a long way, but I have a saying, ‘I didn’t come this far, only to come this far’, so I don’t think I’ll stop anytime soon.”

Michael Borgelt also shared some advice that helped him grow and encouraged the younger generation by saying, “Entrepreneurship is a difficult path; I mean, I could write a book about the problems I faced in trying to achieve my goals. But the quickest and surefire way to succeed in life is to not chase the money but genuinely provide and care for your customers. As long as you keep that as your primary focus, there’s no way you will fail.”

On a parting note, Michael shared his thoughts on the future of managed hosting, “People are embracing digitalization faster than ever, and they don’t have time to worry about load times and bugs, so I think this industry has yet to reach its highest point, and I’m pretty optimistic about it.”
