Kanashii’s Rapid Rise to Stardom for the Second Time Around

The hip-hop artist and songwriter Arthur Sanchez has come out of his hiatus with a comeback even stronger than ever as he reinvents himself as his new identity: Kanashii. Since he started professionally recording music at 12 years old, he has continually grown and evolved his remarkable brand of music. He has now masterfully refined it to appeal to both millennials and generation Z.

Kanashii was born Arturo Macias Sanchez on the 28th of August, 1997. The year 1997 happens to be the first year of gen Z, and as such, he grew up with elements of both millennials and gen Z. Growing up with these elements allowed him to connect his music with both generations. This Mexican-American native of the San Francisco Bay Area integrates native hip-hop and Latin trap in his unique mix of diverse styles and flows specially catered to their taste.

His music journey began at four years old, as his family fostered a deep love for music in him. The value of money was instilled in him at an early age as well, and he started taking odd jobs and saving up. That money went toward the first step of achieving his dream of becoming a music artist. In UGMX Studios in San Jose, California, he recorded his first song as LilAmMusic, titled “I’ve Been Watching You.” The release of the track was through SoundCloud and other social media platforms.

The path to success is not straightforward, as is the experience of the next big hit as he climbs his way back to fame for the second time around. An unfortunate turn of events in late 2013 brought a sudden, grinding halt to his rapid rise to fame, as his grief and devastation over his grandfather’s death resulted in his decision to take a break from music. Five years passed, and 2018 brought the much-anticipated revival of LilAmMusic as Arthur Sanchez, and later as Kanashii, with a sharper focus and a stronger approach to music.

As if the world had been waiting for it, his return quickly gained people’s attention across the globe, and he managed to land features with artists from Colombia, Slovakia, Toronto, and New Jersey in a short amount of time. These tracks will be released later this year. Still, given the continual evolution of his music style, these impending releases may be just what the public needs to make Kanashii their next up-and-coming favorite artist.

Many people dream of making it big in the industry, but unfortunately, not all are blessed with the resources to make survival as an artist somewhat easier. Kanashii hopes to break the barrier between independent and signed major artists with his brand. In parallel with his dream of becoming the next big hit, one of his more important goals is to guide other artists with fewer resources to build their names in the industry and grow their presence online.

Kanashii is the hottest up-and-rising artist, and he only continues to grow by the day. Find out more about him by visiting his website, Instagram, Twitter, TikTok, and listen to his hottest tracks on SoundCloud.

Ded Stark on Growing a Cult Following in Indie Music

Ded Stark is an entirely self-sustained and self-produced independent artist. With over fifty all-original self-produced songs and twenty music videos, he is about as underground as they come.

Ded Stark avoids labels. His beats draw inspiration from new wave, cloud rap, and trap music, but his lyrics are not hip-hop when broken down or read on paper. He avoids labeling himself as a rapper or even a hip-hop artist if he can help it because he feels as though it limits his artistic creativity.

Ded Stark describes himself as more of a mix between different types of non-hip-hop influences with a hip-hop/trap core for the beats, which makes it hard to categorize his music. He almost writes indie-pop music disguised as some form of hip-hop with a blues, grunge, reggae, or rock sonic undertone because of what he grew up with. He is neither pop punk nor goth. All the while, he has been holding his own in his alt wave and pop punk adjacent genre, staying in his own lane, and trying to find a good place to host his music and find a platform.

Over time, Ded Stark has accumulated somewhat of a cult following, having tapped into the mood and aesthetic sub-scenes that populate the underbelly of the internet. With no manager, he has been able to make waves in his “underground” scene, making a lane of his own for those fans of “sad” and “alternative” hip-hop music that want something different from the typical goth or “emo” sound.

His usual listeners are international fans of underground music and mainstream music. Many of his fans are people who like moody, emotional, inspirational, or introspective music who want to find music that speaks to them.

Despite this extraordinarily collaborative music scene, Ded Stark never collaborates at all. He plays all the guitar parts by himself and makes all the beats by himself. He writes, records, edits, and engineers all the vocals by himself too. This has proven to be a blessing and a curse, as it indeed helps him stand out a lot. However, it also eliminates a lot of collaboration growth opportunities, which seems to be one of the main ingredients in many underground artists’ success. Nevertheless he doesn’t skip a beat, releasing more and more solo songs faster and faster, as if to prove that he can do this all on his own.

Ded Stark’s music career came together very naturally. He has been obsessed with music his whole life. His brand is an amalgamation of all his past musical experiences and endeavors. He has been playing guitar since he was just in elementary school, and he has been in bands, singing, songwriting, making beats, and rapping for many years now. As an adult, all he wants to do is make music, so his choice to become a musical artist came naturally.

Ded Stark wants to have over 100 all original songs out in the next couple years or less, and a ton more albums and videos as well. Right now, he is focused on building his catalog and growing as an artist. As long as he’s alive, he’ll be working on his art.Check out Ded Stark’s music for free on Spotify and SoundCloud.

Victoria Santaguida on How Her Passion is Stronger Than Any Ordeal

Tough times have a way of revealing how bad people truly want something. They can either compel people to go after their dreams or veer them away from a dream they thought they wanted.

True enough, it is easy enough to hold on to a dream when the stakes aren’t high. But Victoria holds on to hers even when the easier option is to let go.

Victoria Santaguida, an acclaimed international contemporary dancer, has been sending big waves in the industry since she was young. Having already created a name for herself, she decided to share her talent by teaching aspiring dancers who dream of following in her footsteps. Now, the well-loved mentor has successfully equipped her students with the necessary skills and mindset to get into prestigious schools like LaGuardia School of the Arts and the Juilliard School.

Through the years, she has gained recognition for winning competitions as well as making appearances in music videos of some of the world’s most prominent artists. And driven by her mission of being a source of inspiration, she encourages others to go after their dreams.

Being a mentor and a teacher, Victoria is highly regarded for her expertise in ballet and contemporary dances. But fueled with an ever-dynamic spirit, she set out to expand her horizons by venturing into other styles of dance such as modern, jazz, hip-hop, and tap. And with this extreme work ethic, the dancer emerges as an unrivaled force in the industry.

Although Victoria takes pride in her Canadian roots, she felt the need to take her dreams someplace else. So in 2013, she moved to New York City and got the coveted opportunity of performing with the Joffrey Ballet Concert Group, now known as the New York Dance Project, for three seasons.

After her breakthrough participation in Joffrey, Victoria went on to dance with Complexions Contemporary Ballet under the direction of Dwight Rhoden and Desmond Richardson, where she toured and performed internationally in Jamaica, Switzerland, Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia and across the United States. And in 2017, she joined Nimbus Dance in Jersey City under the tutelage of Samuel Pott.

Despite doing exceptionally well in the United States, Victoria was still not immune to any of life’s challenges. In 2018, the dancer had to suffer an ankle injury that nearly ended her career. But with the warm support of her family, friends, and mentors, she recovered quicker than any doctor thought she would.

Overcoming the ankle injury she sustained, Victoria has emanated a remarkable sense of physical strength. However, she also takes pride in her emotional and mental tenacity that allowed her to endure the arduous process of obtaining her current work visa. And being an immigrant, she considers this monumental feat as a reminder for those who are in a similar situation to never give up on their dreams.

But just when things are finally starting to look up, the dancer once again faces another ordeal – the COVID-19 pandemic. And while this global crisis has caused a lot of artists to give up on their passion and to retire from their careers, it has only pushed Victoria to fight even harder.

Being no stranger to life’s adversities, she knows that undergoing trials are necessary for one to reach the summits of success. Through her persistence, she invites everyone to keep the faith and to trust whatever it is they set their hearts on.

$windlaaa Talks Career Struggles and His New Clothing Line

At only twenty years old, $windlaaa is not only a rapper but also a businessman. The up-and-coming musician from Florida recently established two companies despite all his personal troubles and all the naysayers telling him he could never achieve his dreams.

Born in Upstate New York and raised in Miami, Florida, $windlaaa is an only child raised by a single mother. The artist was born Curtis Foster Jr. He resides in Florida but feels a stronger connection to his place of birth, Spring Valley, New York, because of the unique vibe and the connections he made there. Growing up, he would travel back and forth between Florida and New York all the time.

His mother, who worked in the hip hop music industry, inspired $windlaaa to take a music career path. He used to go to all the concerts and festivals where his mom worked backstage and he would watch the artists perform. He had always loved music as an art form. It was something he picked up himself. He started off as a beatmaker, just creating beats for fun. In college, they had a talent show called Verbal. Students went up to showcase their talents — rapping, singing, or performing poetry. He had written a poem about his father, but he didn’t have the courage to read it on stage. Instead, he read about certain people in his classes and some of his professors—and it was a success.

In making music, $windlaaa draws inspiration from the deep, honest truths in his life. Much of his music is about life after high school and the struggles he faced while learning to be out on his own. He often raps about relationship ups and downs, betrayals, disappointments, and the changes in people he used to rely on.

In his latest release, “Moving Fast,” $windlaaa raps about quitting college football to become a rapper and the backlash he is facing with himself and his family. This type of struggle is a common theme in his repertoire. In talking about his struggles, he wants his fans to know that they should not be afraid to pursue their passion despite the struggles that everyone will inevitably face after leaving high school. In doing so, he wants to prove to the naysayers who doubted to see his success that he did not give up on what he wanted for himself.

The young entrepreneur started a clothing line called Sheesh Clothing that is inspired by hip-hop culture. The clothing line features T-shirts, crew neck sweatshirts, and sweatpants, which $windlaaa plans to expand in the future.

In his free time, the rapper loves to write music and plan for his next release. As an independent hip-hop artist, $windlaaa is always on the hunt for ways he can improve his art and widen his reach. He can often be found watching documentaries and hearing other artist’s stories on how they made it and what they had to do to become the power player they are now, utilizing the techniques they’ve learned to add to his craft.

$windlaaa looks forward to signing with a major record deal, traveling on tour around the world, and building more businesses. His personal motto is to just stay focused, block out all the extra noise, and be ready for the next chapter in life.

How Emoedagreat Silenced His Naysayers With His Passion for Music

The pursuit of a dream would not be complete without a bunch of naysayers along the way. And as odd as this may sound, these doubters are actually a necessary ingredient in the recipe for achieving goals and fulfilling aspirations. Without cynics, no one would know how capable they truly are in reaching their dreams.

For Eric Lattimore, more prominently known as Emoedagreat, having people who doubted his abilities and skills was one of the things that catapulted him to the summits of success. If it had not been for his naysayers, the artist would not have been as driven and motivated to go beyond his limits and step into the light.

Originally coming from the town of Gaffney in South California, Emoedagreat packed his bags and set out to Los Angeles to pursue his career and nurture his passion for music. And proving that he has what it takes to make a name for himself in the entertainment business, the go-getter was able to seal a partnership with industry titans such as YouTube and Facebook.

Taking his dreams to great heights as he reaches for the stars, Emoedagreat has been working independently by coming up with his own marketing strategies and ad campaigns. And just recently, he has dropped his first solo singles, which include No Kap, Get It In, Bounce Back & Double Up.

To keep the ball rolling, Emoedagreat will be coming out with a classic, called My Go, that will be available on all streaming platforms on the 15th of August this year. Also, he looks forward to shocking the world with his upcoming album, Bugatti Truck Music, which is bound for release in January 2021.

Incorporating his soulful vibe with hip-hop, R&B, and pop, Emoedagreat creates music that can tug at the heartstrings of his listeners. And when the rising star was asked as to why he was so versatile with his works, he explains that it is because he wants to be the first artist to have a number-one hit in every genre.

But aside from blowing the music industry away with his creative flair, Emoedagreat is also trying to make his way in the world of entertainment by pursuing his career as an actor. And breathing life into this dream, he is now creating his own short films, TikTok clips, and other comedy skits. On top of that, his label, Carolina Plug Music Group (CPMG), will also be launching in January 2021.

Today, Emoedagreat takes pride in everything that he has accomplished. And although he still has a lot of things in store for his growing career, he cannot help but revel in the sweetness of his earnest efforts.

While it is normal for people to feel disheartened upon getting told they are not good enough, it is still crucial that they take back every ounce of motivation they have lost and use it to become better. And true enough, Emoedagreat believes that nothing can silence naysayers more than proving them wrong with greatness and success.

Looking back on the times when he barely had anyone believing in him, Emoedagreat admits that he could have easily given up. But instead of using those who doubted him as excuses for not going after his dreams, the musical sensation used them as a reminder of how passionate he was about his craft, enough for him to beat the odds.

Canadian Rapper D’NME on Taking Full Control of His Music

If there’s one thing that a music artist should always carry up his sleeves, it’s confidence. Independent rapper D’NME is undoubtedly the most gifted and technically sound artist to emerge in the hip-hop scene today. He has proclaimed himself the “face of the rap game” and the “greatest rapper in the world.” D’NME does not hesitate to recognize his talent and potential. For the artist, striving for greatness is normal, and no one should ever settle for anything less.

Born Roderick Anson, the artist is a native of Toronto, Canada. As an independent Canadian rapper, D’NME feels that he has a responsibility to break the stigma the world has against Canadian artists. His music is an avenue for him to shatter the prejudice of listeners worldwide with the level of talent and authenticity that he brings to the table. The artist has built a name for himself in the industry without any assistance from major record labels or prominent artists.

“For me, it speaks volumes to be a hip-hop artist that doesn’t fit the mold but is still able to break through and make noise in the industry,” the rapper said. D’NME isn’t shy about his vision of building a career in the business. He began his journey in the underground Toronto rap scene in the late 2000s with his first mixtape called The Death of Me. Later on, the artist realized that he could maximize his talent by exploring contemporary platforms.

D’NME capitalized on the emergence of the digital music market and independently released his second mixtape called Guns & Roses, hosted by the late DJ Whiteowl in 2012. It was a strategic move for D’NME because it garnered him a considerable amount of recognition online. During the same year, the rapper recorded an intro freestyle for hip-hop legend Sway Calloway. It aired on Sway’s world-famous show called Sway in the Morning

The rapper’s career continued to prosper. In 2013, D’NME made various appearances in underground mixtapes. He was also featured in the Indie Grind Spotlight section of the Hip Hop Weekly magazine. In 2015, the artist released his third mixtape called I Smell Blood in the Water, hosted by none other than Southern Smoke founder DJ Smallz.

He continued to drop more tracks online. One of his best online smashes is his single called Bad AF featuring Adam Duncan. The song captured many women hip-hop enthusiasts. In 2017, D’NME’s EP called Number One with a Bullet earned him respect in the online community. His catalog on Spotify has reached over half a million streams. The rapper’s newest single, “Untouchable,” has reached over 150,000 streams on Spotify.

Furthermore, in 2019, D’NME made history as the first Canadian rapper to receive the “Freestyle of the Week” accolade on the DogHouse radio show in Bronx, New York. The rapper has also been featured on very credible platforms such as Power 105.1 and Thisis50. His several appearances have proven that the rapper has made waves outside Canada.

Asked about what separates him from other artists, D’NME said that his stylistic approach in his lyrics and music makes him unique. “I would say that I put a lot of emphasis on the technical aspect of rapping while still making great music that doesn’t sound dated,” the rapper said further.

D’NME finds power in having artistic freedom and always being in control of his own narrative when it comes to building his brand. The rapper himself makes every decision in his career. He is not confined by the limits and conditions that other artists need to be respectful of, nor did he wait for anyone’s assistance to build himself in the industry. In the greatest sense, D’NME is a true artist that moves to the beat of his drum.

JGomes: Making Waves Through Powerful Message-Heavy Music

Versatile artist JGomes is making big ripples in the music industry through his unique sound and powerful lyrics. Originating from Connecticut, the creative is a rising artist, rapper, and songwriter seeking to put his life experience into words and music.

Through his authentic sound, the hip hop and rap artist entrances listeners. In the entertainment world and his fanbase, the rising artist is known for his powerful storytelling lyricism and hard-hitting instrumentation. Using the situations and hurdles he has had to overcome, JGomes bares his soul and tells his story to his audience.

Talking about how he got his start in music and his inspiration for his sound, JGomes reveals, “my father was a DJ so I was always around music but he also was someone in tune with the street life so I was exposed to a harsh reality. On the other hand my mother is a minister so I grew in church and was exposed to a brighter side of the world.”

The impactful lyrics that feature on JGomes’ tracks often tell the story of his life. “I had my fair share of trouble growing up, I spent a 3rd of my life locked up for bad decisions, but I’ve seen so much of life and have been able to incorporate it into my sound,” JGomes reveals.

Not just his life story, JGomes spreads a message of hope and encourages his listeners to never give up on their dreams. Due to personal beliefs, the rising artist almost put his mic down. It took the sad passing of his father for JGomes to turn to his music once more. After using his sound as a distraction from and an outlet for his grief, JGomes’ music showed a vulnerability that captivated listeners. Soon after, he was on the rise as his popularity grew.

The artist saw this series of events as his father’s plan for him. Because of it, JGomes empowers his reach never to give up. “I would hate for someone with a talent or passion for something to feel like they need to stop because they haven’t reached a goal in the time frame they set for themselves,” he states. “Do it for as long as it takes.”

To convey his powerful message, JGomes ensures that the sound carrying it takes hold of his listeners. The artist sees to it that his listeners get something new from him with every song release. Among the impressive tracks that line his discography are ‘She Said,’ ‘Name Is,’ ‘Try So Hard,’ ‘OPEN YOUR EYES,’ ‘Just My Type,’ and the recently released ‘Hallelujah.’

Developing his style of classic hip hop merged with a modern sound, JGomes experiments with his music. He is set to carve a unique, unparalleled sound that is entirely his own. The hip hop/rap artist is one of the few capable of switching his genre and style with the same caliber JGomes has.

“I want to be able to reach everyone, I don’t make a specific sound. I’ve been around people of all ages and I try to make music that my mom would like and at the same time music that my 14 year old daughter would like. So far I managed to succeed in doing so,” the artist shares.

Spreading his message of hope in as many places and as many people as he can, JGomes has performed in high profile venues such as Toads Place, Sin City, and Madison Square Garden. With an all or nothing mentality and a new, authentic sound, JGomes rocks the boat and makes lasting waves in the music industry.
