At just 19 years old, Sofia Ford is already making a name for herself as an alternative rock artist. Hailing from South London, Sofia is a singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and producer who draws inspiration from 90s rock bands like Oasis and the Stone Roses.

Sofia’s love for music started at a young age when her dad taught her to play the guitar at seven years old. Growing up, they would listen to various genres of music in the car and sing together. By eight years old, Sofia began writing her own songs and performing at open mic nights, local cover band shows, and festivals. She even busked on Covent Garden at eight years old.

Writing music became an important outlet for Sofia as she endured bullying at school. It enabled her to express her emotions and deal with her feelings through the catharsis of songwriting. Her talent and passion for music led her to perform at various events, building a following along the way.

Sofia alternates between a 12-string acoustic and electric guitar while singing lead vocals supported by her five-piece band: drums, bass, electric, and rock organ. She has headlined her own shows around Brighton and London, supporting Scouting for Girls at this year’s Oxted Fest.

Despite early disappointments in the music industry, Sofia’s determination and drive pushed her to learn how to produce her own music. She purchased all the necessary equipment and taught herself to fully produce and mix her music while playing all the instruments. Her latest track, “Under the Water” is a testament to her talent as a producer and musician.

Sofia’s passion for music led her to study at the Brit School in Croydon and pursue a degree in Music Business, focusing on the legal and professional side of the industry. Her goal is to bring change to the industry with a new and refreshing perspective, empowering people with her music and releasing tracks that everyone can relate to.

Sofia’s latest release, “Under The Water,” is an impressive showcase of her skills as a songwriter and producer. Her love for 90s rock shines through with its melodic bass lines, raging electric guitars, and catchy hooks.
