The Real Reason Why Fergie Is No Longer Black Eyed Peas

The Grammy award-winning group – Black Eyed Peas have recently released their highly anticipated album “Translation” last June 20. The group was on hiatus for several years and now they are back on track to celebrate their music once again. However, fans were quite puzzled and shocked by the absence of Fergie (the group’s femme member), expecting that she will return to the group after she announced departure last 2017.

In an exclusive interview with Billboard magazine, Will.i.am, Apl.de.ap and Taboo explained why Fergie left the Black Eyed Peas after working together for over 10 years. They were solid and fantastic but things must come to an end. The Black Eyed Peas explained why Fergie decided to leave the spotlight from the music group in 2017 after one decade of making music hits and working together as a team.

Moreover, Will.i.am, Apl.de.ap and Taboo revelead that their former femme member decided to stepped out of the group because of her desire and commitment to devote herself to being a “great mom.”

Will.i.am stated, “We love her, and she’s focusing on being a mom. That’s a hard job, and that’s what she really wants to do and we’re here for her… It’s really the way Fergie designed it, so we’re respecting her design. We love Fergie, and we don’t want anything but awesomeness for her.”

The leader of the group, Apl.de.ap added, “But unfortunately our schedule is displaced by [her] wanting to be a great mom, and she wants to focus on that.”

The group is really supportive with her decision and wishing her the best to fulfill her dream and duties as a loving mother. Nevertheless, the group’s musical flow will undergo changes and their latest album was jam-packed with other notable artists in the music industry.

Likewise, the group shared that Fergie’s decision was ultimately for the best of her family as it allowed them to introduce singer J. Rey Soul to the world. “I feel we’re giving birth to a new artist, J.Rey Soul. I really want to give her ultimate praise and respect. What the fellows said—Ferg, she’s doing the mom thing—but we have an amazing artist we’re developing,” Taboo said. J. Rey semi-officially became part of the team in 2018 after winning the Philippines’ version of The Voice.

Fergie’s dramatic musical comeback after hitting rock bottom was moving. After her musical controversies she rose from the ashes and continued making music. Consequently, it has been over two years since the group released their official statement and confirmed her departure from the group. After that that time she released her first solo-studio album Double Dutchess, which Will.i.am helped produce, and launched her record label Dutchess Music respectively that year.

Also, the singer was on hot water after she had divorced from her former husband and Hollywood star, Josh Duhamel in September 2017. They decided to announce their divorce officially in Nov. 2019 and have since been raising their son Axl Duhamel together.

An insider gave scoops and previously shared, “Fergie and Josh have been in the best place since announcing their split. They get along much better now that they are apart than when they were together, and have also mastered co-parenting.”

With that, Fergie carried all the baggage while crafting her music label and releasing her solo album. It was tough and tragic but she was able to pull it off and focused on her album promotion last 2017.

Meanwhile, Black Eyed Peas latest album “Translation” is now globally available on music streaming platforms.
