Topps Timeless Series To Auction Highly Coveted Mickey Mantle Baseball Card NFT

One of the great things about NFT (non-fungible tokens) technology is its ability to immortalize digital art across many different verticals. This unique feature has paved the way for a new era in the collectibles industry and as a testament to this, the exciting new Topps Timeless Series gears up for the upcoming release of a one-of-a-kind, 1-of-1 NFT collectible.

The Topps Company will be auctioning an NFT collection of the highly coveted Topps 1952 Mickey Mantle baseball card in cooperation with Major League Baseball and the Mantle Estate. In addition, the one-of-one NFT will be minted as an ERC-721 token on the Ethereum blockchain.

The rare, vintage relic is a digital scan of the front and back from an actual card in the original Topps 1952 release. It was then pulled from Topps’ digital archives and inserted into the NFT showcase.

Not only does the NFT feature the iconic Topps baseball card, but also video of memorabilia and historical imagery that  celebrates Mickey Mantle’s legacy.

In addition to being a remarkable piece of sports history, the sought-after digital collectible  is also revolutionizing the NFT space by being the first-ever licensed MLB NFT to be auctioned on OpenSea.

The Topps 1952 Mickey Mantle Card NFT Auction will go live on the OpenSea platform on March 1st at 1 PM EST and ends March 4th at 1 PM EST. However, any bid placed within the last ten minutes will extend the auction by an additional ten minutes.

Participating in the auction can be done in four easy steps. First, participants must connect their wallets to the OpenSea page. Next, they should ensure they have enough WETH balance that corresponds to their bid amount. Those who have inadequate funds can simply convert their ETH to WETH.

After which, they just need to click the “Place Bid” button and make sure that their bid is more than the current highest. Lastly, they can monitor the auction to see if someone else has overtaken their bid.

On top of owning the prized NFT, the auction winner will also have the rare opportunity to have a 30-minute video interview with Mickey Mantle’s sons, Danny and David Mantle.

Those who may come up short in the legendary Mickey Mantle baseball card NFT auction should not lose hope, as it is just the first drop in the Topps Timeless Series. The Topps Timeless Series was  created to celebrate the company’s most iconic baseball cards through exclusive, premium 1-of-1 digital collectibles. This means that the company  will be releasing more unique baseball NFTs in the future.

As such, the highly anticipated auction is expected to attract a community of like-minded individuals, including sports fans, baseball fans, sports memorabilia collectors, sports card collectors, Yankee fans, baseball history fans, NFT prospects, crypto consumers, fintech audiences, DeFi audiences, NFT day traders, and high profile digital and physical auction bidders.

To stay up to date on the latest Topps Timeless Series news, interested parties can follow along on Topps NFTs  social media accounts on Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram. It has also created a dedicated Discord server to continue engaging with its community.
