While the spotlight illuminates the runway, the true heartbeat of events like the Metropolitan Fashion Week Los Angeles Closing Gala lies in the dedicated professionals working behind the scenes. On September 28, 2024, at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library & Museum, the gala showcased creativity, artistry, and collaboration, made possible by the efforts of numerous individuals whose contributions are essential.
Gala Highlights
The event was organized by Founder Eduardo Khawam and Executive Producer Paul Jaramillo, featuring over 12 international designers under the theme “Symphony of Fashion.” Highlights included the “After 6:00 PM” presentation by the White Piano Group and the launch of the Legace Collection, the first Metropolitan Fashion Line of Tuxedos. Emmy Award winner Christine Devine hosted the event, which also supported children in need through the Kiwanis Literacy Club Foundation by donating five books for every ticket sold. Fernanda Pinheiro was honored as Designer of the Year for her contributions to the fashion world.
Visionaries and Leaders
Founder and President, Eduardo Khawam and Executive Producer, Paul Jaramillo led the event, bringing their vision to life through the commitment of their team. Jesus Luviano, the Production Director, played a significant role in the production. Known for his recent contributions to Dolce & Gabbana’s Production Team, Luviano fosters a culture of appreciation and collaboration among global talent.

With nine years of experience, she ensured seamless coordination, managing everything from schedules to visual elements. Her focus on creating a positive environment contributed to the overall success of the event.
A Symphony of Collaboration
The gala was a collaborative effort involving a diverse network of professionals. Fashion Directors Nazik Utuchian and Niveen Carrero curated a range of designs that told compelling stories and pushed creative boundaries. The production team, along with choreographers like Alfredo Carrasquero and Jasmin Day, transformed the runway into a performance space where each presentation reflected meticulous planning and rehearsals.
Creative Powerhouses: Designers and Artists
The event celebrated innovation with a lineup of designers, including award recipients Fernanda Pinheiro, Inoe Vargas, and David Tupaz. Their designs captivated the audience, brought to life by the efforts of artisans and technicians.

The makeup artists and hairstylists played a crucial role in transforming models into representations of the designers’ visions. Under the direction of Veronica Becerra and assisted by Alma Cedillo, a talented team including Mireya Andrade, Myrlen Monge, Ana Lilia Lares, Griselda Vallejo, Maritza Flores, Marlene Perez, Lucy Galvan, Sara Vargas, Estefania Lopez, Kira Isfan-Smith, Mayra Duarte, Maria Andres Martinez, Maria Silva, Judith Martinez, Erica Trevino, Man Ting Cheng, Andy Jenkins, Kyra Long, Richi Gonzalez, and Ana Lares dedicated hours to perfecting their looks. Their expertise contributed significantly to the overall aesthetic of the gala, enhancing the event’s creative expression.
“Belonging to the Metropolitan Fashion Week team for 10 years has enriched my soul,” noted Becerra.
