Missouri native Jerald Lee Hill is a leading name in real estate construction, development, and management. Since 2016, the Kansas City-based company president has enjoyed fantastic success at the helm of one of Jackson County’s premier real estate development, construction, and management firms.

Prior to his work in construction and development, Hill enjoyed a successful tenure in the political field, including five years as the assistant to United States Senator John C. Danforth. While employed as Senator Danforth’s assistant between 1977 and 1982, he also served as the U.S. Senate Commerce Committee’s chairman.

The U.S. Senate Commerce Committee oversees vital business and trade policies, including foreign and interstate commerce. This experience set Hill in excellent stead for subsequent positions, including high-profile roles at Appellate Advantage and Landmark Legal Foundation. He now serves as the president of a major construction and development firm in Kansas City, Missouri.

From U.S. Senate to Litigation and Public Policy

As former U.S. Senator Danforth’s assistant, Jerald Lee Hill supported the esteemed government official with myriad federal matters. These often critical matters routinely involved the Department of Commerce, the Department of Health and Human Services, the Department of Housing and Urban Development, the Environment Protection Agency, and the Federal Trade Commission.

The influence of Hill’s spell as Senator Danforth’s assistant soon inspired a move to Landmark Legal Foundation in 1982. Between 1982 and 1985, Missouri native Jerald acted as the organization’s director of administration and counsel. In 1985, Landmark promoted Hill to president – a position he held for the next 11 years until 1996.

Landmark Legal Foundation is a national litigation and public policy institute. The Kansas City, MO-headquartered institution handles matters at local, federal, and state levels across executive, judicial, and legislative branches of the U.S. government.

From Legal Consulting Services to Real Estate CEO

In 1996, Jerald Lee Hill joined Appellate Advantage, holding the title of president of the Kansas City-based consultancy firm for three years until 1999. Privately owned Appellate Advantage provides case consulting, document preparation, and management services to attorneys practicing before the U.S. Court of Appeals and the U.S. Supreme Court.

From Appellate Advantage, he headed to Resource Development in Springfield, Missouri, as its chief operating officer. The renowned real estate construction, development, and management firm also operates in Colorado, Oklahoma, and Texas.

At Resource Development, Hill was directly responsible for overseeing all fiscal, managerial, and operational matters. That included managing outside professionals and consultants, from accountants, architects, contractors, financial advisors, and land use planners to external legal counsel, site engineers, and real estate brokers.

He would also restructure and restaff Resource Development’s financial and accounting teams, doubling the company’s holdings as annual revenues rose by over 250 percent.

Past, Present, and Future Excellence

Since 2016, Jerald Lee Gill has, as president, successfully grown his company’s property portfolio to a record $500 million and now oversees annual construction projects valued at more than $250 million.

Hill is a graduate of the University of Missouri School of Law and William Jewell College, where he is a former winner of the Col. Alexander Doniphan Award for Outstanding Male and maintains Outstanding Alumni status. He also completed overseas studies at Harlaxton College in Lincolnshire, England.

Elsewhere, happily married for over 40 years, Missouri-born Hill proudly supports various good causes, including local homeless shelters and food kitchens in Kansas City. Away from his work and charitable endeavors, he revels in golf, history, movies, politics, professional football, reading, travel, and attending church.
