March is International Disability Awareness Month, a time to celebrate strength, resilience, and the voices of those advocating for inclusivity. Among those making a profound impact is Tuli, a model and disability advocate who has turned personal challenges into a powerful platform for change. Follow her journey on Instagram: @yrmusetuli

From Runway to Advocacy

Tuli’s love for fashion and performance began early, but her journey took an unexpected turn when a work-related accident left her physically disabled. Rather than allowing this to limit her, she found a new purpose—merging her passion for modeling with advocacy for people with disabilities.

“I realized I wanted to be more than just a pretty face,” Tuli shares. “I wanted to use my platform to raise awareness for a community that is often forgotten and misunderstood.”

A Voice for the Forgotten

Tuli’s passion for advocacy is deeply personal. Having witnessed the struggles of her mother, who was immunocompromised, her nephew, who lost a limb in a boating accident, and her young niece, a Prader-Willi Syndrome warrior, she has seen firsthand the inequalities faced by the disabled community.

Their experiences, combined with her own, fueled her determination to not only represent individuals with disabilities in the fashion world but to also educate the public on the stigmas surrounding disability and mental health.

Making an Impact

Through her modeling, beauty content, and social media presence, Tuli provides a voice for those who feel unheard. Her advocacy extends beyond her own experiences—she speaks up for all disabilities, ensuring no one is left behind.

“The messages I receive, the gratitude from people thanking me for raising awareness—it means everything. If I can use my voice to create change, why wouldn’t I?” she says.

Faith, Kindness, and a Vision for the Future

Tuli’s journey is not just about breaking barriers; it’s about inspiring others to embrace their own paths, no matter how unconventional they may be. Guided by faith and a deep belief in the power of kindness, she strives to build a world where inclusivity is the norm, not the exception.

Looking ahead, she plans to expand her advocacy by participating in more podcasts and public speaking engagements. She hopes to educate others on disabilities, tackle misconceptions, and continue being a beacon of empowerment.

“I walk in faith, and I go with God’s plan for me,” she says. “I want every person to know they are loved, valued, and capable of anything.”

Breaking Stigmas, One Step at a Time

As International Disability Awareness Month unfolds, Tuli’s remarkable journey serves as a powerful example of the strength and beauty of perseverance in the face of adversity. Her story resonates with anyone who has ever faced challenges, showing that disabilities, no matter how significant, do not define who we are as individuals. Instead, it is our determination, resilience, and desire to rise above obstacles that shape our identities and accomplishments.

Through her actions, she highlights the importance of kindness, compassion, and the willingness to uplift others, regardless of one’s own struggles. Her life’s message encourages everyone to look beyond physical limitations and focus on the strength that lies within, ultimately reminding us that the true essence of a person is defined by their heart, not their circumstances. As we reflect on International Disability Awareness Month, Tuli’s example encourages a world that embraces inclusivity and celebrates the value of every individual.
