In today’s world, where digital trends change at the speed of light, standing out requires more than just technical expertise—it demands grit, resilience, and the ability to evolve. Adam McChesney’s journey is a perfect example of how a shift in mindset, paired with a relentless drive, can lead to incredible success. From his beginnings in pharmaceutical sales to becoming a respected digital marketing entrepreneur, McChesney’s path is anything but conventional, and his story continues to inspire those who dare to bet on themselves.

When Adam first stepped into the world of sales, he was in the medical device industry, focusing on CPAP equipment. The work was fast-paced and competitive, which helped him build crucial skills in communication and client relationships. But even with success under his belt, he couldn’t shake the feeling that something was missing. He had achieved the career milestones, but the work itself didn’t bring him the fulfillment he was craving.

By 2020, McChesney had climbed the corporate ladder, and his sales territory had expanded significantly. But the constant travel and the grind of corporate life were starting to wear him down. “I was burnt out,” McChesney admits. “I wanted to build something of my own, something that would give me more control over my time and my future.”

It wasn’t until he decided to take a risk that things truly started to change. McChesney invested $7,000 into a rank-and-rent marketing course in 2018, all while still juggling his full-time job. He wasn’t exactly sure how it would pan out, but he knew he couldn’t stay stuck in a life that wasn’t making him happy. The digital marketing world became his escape, and he committed to it with everything he had.

“I started posting on social media consistently,” McChesney says. “At first, I had no idea what I was doing, but I knew it was important to share my journey authentically. That’s when things started to shift.” His approach wasn’t about being perfect—it was about being real. Sharing his successes, but also his failures, created a sense of transparency that his audience could relate to. It didn’t happen overnight, but in just 15 months, McChesney scaled his business from zero to seven figures.

A pivotal moment in McChesney’s life came with the birth of his son, Murphy, in 2023. It was this moment, more than any business decision, that pushed him to fully bet on himself. After leaving a successful partnership with his agency, McChesney decided to go solo, trusting that he could create something even bigger for his family.

“When my son was born, I realized I needed to go all in on myself,” he says. “I had to trust that I could build something that would create a better life for him.” This gamble wasn’t just about money or success—it was about building a legacy. And it paid off.

One of McChesney’s proudest achievements has been launching his program, Builders of Authority. The initiative was born from his desire to help other entrepreneurs build their personal brands but with a crucial twist: accountability.

“I realized that people often know what they need to do, but staying consistent is the hard part,” McChesney explains. “Accountability is what makes the difference. So, I created a program that not only gives entrepreneurs a roadmap but also the support to follow through.”

The program has resonated with many, helping others build their own brands while staying true to their goals. McChesney’s unique approach isn’t about offering a cookie-cutter solution—he believes in giving people the tools they need and then holding them accountable as they take the necessary steps to achieve their vision.

In an industry where transparency is often in short supply, McChesney stands out for his honesty. “I share my profit and loss statements with my audience,” he says. “I believe in being upfront about my journey, including the wins and the challenges.” This transparency has earned him trust and credibility, which are essential in a field that can sometimes feel opaque and transactional.

A core element of McChesney’s success has been his ability to evolve with the times. The digital marketing world is constantly shifting, and what works today may not work tomorrow. McChesney understands that, and it’s one of the reasons his business has continued to thrive.

“You have to be willing to change as the industry evolves,” he says. “If you stick to the same strategies forever, you’ll get left behind. Innovation is key.”

At the heart of McChesney’s journey is his pursuit of freedom. The freedom to work on his terms, choose his partners, and create a life that aligns with his values. For him, success isn’t just about financial gain; it’s about living a life that feels fulfilling.

“I’m not just building a business for the sake of building it,” McChesney reflects. “I’m building something that gives me the freedom to do what I love, when I want, and with the people I choose. And that’s what I want to help others achieve, too.”
