Tiler Peck (New York City Ballet Principal Dancer, Choreographer) will premiere Match, a pas de deux inspired by tennis legend Serena Williams, performed by Skylar Brandt (American Ballet Theatre Principal Dancer) and Breeanna Palmer (Joffrey Ballet School NYC trainee). Match is commissioned by the Ballet Support Foundation (BSF), a nonprofit that supports dancers and produces dance projects internationally. “Ballet Support Foundation has a mission to uplift talent by giving them the opportunity to grow and a platform to shine,” shared Founder and Producer Lola Abigail Koch. “Serena is an inspiration not only for tennis fans but for all athletes, including us ballerinas, and for women. BSF aims to make ballet more diverse and accessible for different audiences, not just for ballet lovers. This is why Match was created with Serena at the focus.”

“A dance about tennis is super cool. A dance dedicated to me, wow. I am lost for words. I have always loved dance, ballet in particular. It was a big part of my life growing up. I can’t wait to see how it turns out,” said Serena.

Match will be unveiled as part of Jean-Hugues Feray’s Paris Ballet and Dance Spring Performance Series at the Kravis Center for Performing Arts in West Palm Beach on June 2nd, 2024, at 7:00 p.m. The program includes selections from renowned ballets, including the Don Quixote Suite, excerpts from The Sleeping Beauty, La Esmeralda pas de deux, Flames of Paris pas de deux, and the Le Talisman variation.
