Christopher Dines – coaching people to be mindful

People sometimes feel lost, stuck, or simply uninspired. Such people need to understand who they are, where they need to go, what change they should bring into their lives and what goals they could accomplish. Being mindful is the process that helps people identify their purpose, know their motivations, and figure out the changes they need in their lives. It enables people to live with their true selves. People usually embark on soul searching when they feel something is missing. People who suffer from a downfall can find the right path by re-evaluating their choices and belief systems. Christopher Dines, who experienced the peak of his career in the music industry in his late adolescence, had to re-evaluate his choices as a result of battling with an addiction to alcohol and drugs. Christopher Dines’ rock bottom wasn’t permanent. He embarked on a journey of recovery from those miserable days in active addiction and took a long hard look at where he was at and who he was becoming. Today, he is the author of eight books and a mindfulness coach. 

There are numerous reasons that people need a mindfulness practice. People need to know what makes them tick. This kind of internal inventory taking involves spiritual and psychological advancement and development. Human beings have emotions and mental stress is a result of emotional pain. In order to improve mental well-being, people need to find ways to deal with the stress and feel happier. In such a situation, soul searching helps people regain equilibrium or bring back what is missing. Sometimes, people are disconnected from the rhythms of life and stop asking themselves questions. As a result, nothing brings them peace or satisfaction.

Christopher Dines was unaware of his goals when he became an alcoholic and drug addict in his teens. However, he started learning about emotional intelligence while attending 12-step recovery meetings. After learning about his own personality and setting healthier goals, he became a mindfulness instructor to numerous individuals suffering from alcohol abuse. His journey from a drug addict to a sober author reveals a lot about him. Christopher knows what an individual needs to keep calm and understand their life’s purpose. He guides people accordingly. He also helps drug addicts and alcoholics remain abstinent at rehabs.  

The mindfulness teacher was born on 19th August 1983 in London, England. Christopher identifies as mixed-race and is of Anglo-Irish and Kenyan descent. He attended his primary and middle school education at Stanborough primary school and Pinner Park middle school. He went to Nower Hill high school in Pinner, however, he didn’t complete his formal education because of pursuing a career in music. Christopher was just fifteen when he left his high school in order to pursue his dream of becoming an international dance music DJ. 

After leaving his high school education in the late-90s, Christopher started getting local gigs throughout North West London and then performed at profiled nightclubs in the West End of London. He also performed as DJ on London’s dance music pirate radio station, Flex FM. Christopher also promoted various dance music bands in London for two years. Unfortunately, his drug-taking lifestyle almost cost him his childhood dream of DJ’ing for a living. Christopher became the victim of cocaine and alcohol addiction, trying to mask his untreated trauma and chronic depression. It was the downfall of his career, but he bounced back and cleaned up when he was 21. He has remained clean since and is approaching eighteen years of abstinence. In adulthood, Dines received private tuition from a Cambridge University Professor, Dr Piers Bursill-Hall, and studied the history of science.

Today, Christopher teaches many people about the importance of mindfulness and encourages self-compassion. Christopher has published eight books and conducted numerous seminars, workshops, retreats, corporate events, and school talks to facilitate people reducing mental stress and improving their mental well-being.
