Dr. Faustino da Rosa Junior is making waves in the field of continuing medical education (CME) by bringing the renowned Brazilian platform, FGMED, to the United States. Recognizing a significant gap in the American CME landscape, Dr. Faustino aims to provide high-tier educational resources to U.S. physicians. In this exclusive interview, he discusses his vision, the success of FGMED and Mediflix, and the strategic expansion into the U.S. market.
Q: Dr. Faustino, what motivated you to bring FGMED’s continuing medical education programs to the United States?
A: The primary motivation was the noticeable absence of comprehensive CME programs in the U.S. American physicians often have to leave the country to pursue advanced postgraduate education. This gap represents a significant opportunity to introduce the excellence of FGMED, which has been hugely successful in Brazil, to the U.S. By providing high-quality CME programs locally, we aim to support U.S. physicians in enhancing their skills and knowledge without the need to travel abroad.
Q: Can you tell us more about the success of Mediflix in Brazil and how it will be integrated into the U.S. market?
A: Mediflix has been a game-changer in Brazil, generating over $50 million in revenue from course sales. It offers a wide range of courses tailored to the needs of medical professionals. The platform’s success is a testament to the high demand for quality continuing medical education. In the U.S., Mediflix will provide a similar comprehensive suite of educational resources, catering not only to Brazilian doctors but to physicians from all over the world who live and work in the U.S. We believe that the American market has immense potential and Mediflix is well-equipped to meet that demand.
Q: What challenges do you foresee in introducing these programs to the U.S., and how do you plan to address them?
A: One of the main challenges is adapting our programs to meet the specific needs and regulatory requirements of the U.S. healthcare system. We are addressing this by forming strategic partnerships with American institutions and leveraging international platforms based in New York and Florida. These collaborations will ensure that our programs are not only relevant but also compliant with local standards. Additionally, we are focusing on creating content that is accessible and engaging for U.S. physicians, incorporating feedback to continuously improve our offerings.
Q: How do you envision the impact of FGMED and Mediflix on the U.S. healthcare system?
A: The impact will be multifaceted. Firstly, by providing high-quality CME locally, we can significantly enhance the skills and knowledge of U.S. physicians, leading to improved patient care. Secondly, our programs will foster a culture of continuous learning and professional development, which is crucial in a rapidly evolving field like healthcare. Lastly, we hope to set a new standard for CME in the U.S., encouraging other providers to elevate their offerings and ultimately benefiting the entire medical community. Our goal is to empower physicians with the ideal tools and knowledge to excel in their practice.
Q: What advice would you give to medical professionals looking to stay ahead in their field?
A: Continuous education and staying updated with the latest advancements are key. Medical professionals should seek out high-quality CME programs that offer practical, up-to-date knowledge. Networking with peers and participating in international conferences can also provide valuable insights and opportunities for professional growth. Importantly, they should choose programs that not only enhance their skills but also inspire them to innovate and improve their practice.
