Helping Heroes Get Hired: One-of-a-Kind Military Vet Career Training Program

Of all the challenges faced by veterans when readjusting to civilian life, entering the workforce can be one of the most stressful. In some cases, the veteran may have never before applied for a civilian job. Determining how military skills translate to non-military jobs can be confusing. Even when veterans have advanced training, that training may not be relevant to jobs that are available.

For veterans who are facing these types of challenges, Go Cloud Careers has a solution. It is called “Helping Heroes Get Hired,” and it is a one-of-a-kind cloud architecture and engineering vocational training program for veterans, as well as current military servicemen and servicewomen, who are seeking high-paying in-demand professional careers after leaving the service.

“I have a deep affinity and admiration for the people who put their lives on the line for this great nation to defend notions of the American dream that give businesses like ours the chance for success. This is our way of giving back,” says Michael Gibbs, CEO and Founder of Go Cloud Careers.  “Cloud architects and cloud engineers are two of the highest paying and most in-demand tech jobs. Seeing the incredible and unprecedented success we had with the civilian version of our program, which boasts a 100 percent hire rate for our students who complete all program requirements, we believe this program will take our warriors and aid in their transition to civilian leadership for maximum success. Every one of our military servicemen and women should have the opportunity to earn a six-figure salary after service.”

Cloud computing offers a unique career opportunity for veterans entering the workforce. It is one of the most rapidly growing IT fields today. With an ever-growing number of businesses reliant on the technology, thousands of positions are available around the world. However, very few people are qualified to fill those positions because most training programs focus only on the technical side of the career.

Go Cloud Careers is an educational organization that empowers students to achieve high-performance cloud computing careers. The Go Cloud program is founded on one premise: getting you hired. Unlike organizations that stop with providing technical proficiency or certifications, Go Cloud provides its students with a practical and deep knowledge of the cloud computing roles available, along with the responsibilities necessary to build an elite tech career.

Go Cloud’s core instructional emphasis includes teaching the skills necessary for elite technology roles. These include courses on leadership skills, business acumen, communication skills, presentation skills, emotional intelligence, sales skills, interview skills, and more. By combining these executive-level skills with technical proficiency and certifications, program graduates are not only more desirable to employers, but they are ultimately more effective in their careers. This ‘certification plus’ concept separates and differentiates Go Cloud Careers from competitors.

The “Helping Heroes Get Hired” program has a special section on emotional control and management, cognitive behavior therapy, mediation, and even yoga. These components are meant to provide methods to alleviate the anxiety of career transitions, help with PTSD and depression, and help reduce the pain of overuse injuries. It also has a special leadership component specifically designed to groom veterans and those with military training for civilian leadership.

“The net result is a program that will get our veterans high-paying and fulfilling careers with rapid career progression and long term career success,” says Chris Johnson, Go Cloud Careers’ Chief Operating Officer. “Anybody can get cloud certified, but not everyone can get cloud hired. Our program and unique method of practically giving away the knowledge tools, but training on the executive, leadership, emotional, and other skills necessary for cloud success separates the program Mike Gibbs has crafted from other cloud educational institutions.”

Go Cloud Careers leverages the latest technology tools to provide its highly effective training programs to students around the world. Its hybrid blend of on-demand classes and real-time instruction gives students the ability to view and review material, while also engaging with instructors who can assess coursework and make recommendations through messaging apps. In addition, Go Cloud fosters community among students by integrating team building events into its program.

Having recently completed its first year of operations, Go Cloud Careers is proud to report it has a 100 percent hire rate for students who completed all components of its program. It is excited to be able to bring that same level of success to the “Helping Heroes Get Hired” program.
