The Designers Group launches unique internship program ‘TDG Insider’

In celebration of the five-year anniversary in their New York City office, The Designers Group introduced TDG Insider, an innovative internship opportunity for students, artists, and those curious about the design industry. “What happens during the day-to-day in a design firm? I remember asking this question when I was making the decision to become an interior designer.“ says CEO Blima Ehrentreu of The Designers Group, “TDG Insider was created to give young designers an opportunity to get facetime with industry professionals so that they have the tools to decide if this is the ideal career path for them.”

Blima’s interior design firm, The Designers Group is now accepting applications for TDG Insider. This unique internship program provides aspiring designers the opportunity to shadow TDG staff in various departments throughout the day, giving them a first-hand look at all aspects of the design process. Even after the program, TDG Insiders will be able to stay in touch with and be mentored by a designer as they get ready to begin a career in the design space.

“Community is a core value here at TDG, and we love sharing our talents! We want TDG Insiders to have first-hand experience in the studio so that they can understand what the day in the life of a designer actually looks like.”

Inclusivity is a priority at The Designers Group. As a certified MWBE (Minority / Women-owned Business Enterprise), The Designers Group is dedicated to uplifting members of their community. TDG Insider accepts interns at all stages of their design journey. Whether you are a high school student, a college student studying interior design, or a professional looking to make a career change, a day with the TDG team could be a valuable experience.

“We created TDG Insider to motivate and encourage people to pursue a career in design.” Says lead interior architect Jubin Bhatia. “We give TDG Insiders interactive tasks so they can really get a feel for what we do in the studio. It gives them a chance to experience materials and get a feel for the process in a way that somebody outside the industry wouldn’t pick up on. It’s very exciting for them!”

“We are proud to prepare emerging designers for their work in the field. TDG focuses on more than just interiors. TDG Insiders would have a chance to work alongside our branding and marketing teams as well.” Says Blima. “It’s fine if you don’t have interior design experience yet! Providing a learning opportunity is what TDG Insider is all about.”

If you would like to spend a day with The Designers Group as a TDG Insider, please fill out an application. You can also find out more about the work at The Designers Group by visiting their website.
