Creativity has become increasingly important in digital marketing over the last 10 years. In the current scenario, brands compete on websites, social networks, streaming media, and mobile apps, where imagery precedes text to engage audiences. Videos, animations, and interactive designs are now regular ingredients of the campaign planning process, not merely nice-to-haves. Industry trend studies illustrate this well. For instance, the Wyzowl report on the “State of Video Marketing 2025” found that 89 percent of businesses use videos for marketing, while 95 percent of video marketers consider videos an essential ingredient in their marketing strategy.
Moburst was founded in 2013 in Israel by Gilad Bechar and Lior Eldan. The company initially focused on mobile marketing, particularly app store optimization and user acquisition. Those services reflected the market at the time, when app visibility and download growth were major priorities for software developers and consumer brands. As digital marketing broadened, the company’s service offering expanded. Offices were established in New York City, San Francisco, Tel Aviv, Denver, Orlando, Miami, and London, supporting clients across North America, Europe, and the Middle East. Over time, creative production became one of several areas added alongside paid media, search engine optimization, analytics, and application development.
One of the important moves the company made was in 2019 when Moburst acquired Clutch Studio, a video content development and UI/UX design company. While announcing the acquisition, the company noted that this move had expanded its creative capacity without changing its core business. The acquisition has enabled the company to build a full-fledged in-house production team responsible for creating commercial videos, animations, motion graphics, product designs, and other creative assets for various digital marketing campaigns.
The acquisition also broadened the type of work the company could support. Video assets became part of campaign planning across mobile applications, websites, paid advertising, and social media platforms. UI & UX design worked hand in hand with development to ensure that creative ideas were tied to product usability. Rather than treating it as a separate field of expertise, many agencies began integrating creativity into broader digital campaigns that involved acquisition, retention, and analytics. Moburst’s expansion followed this direction, bringing production, design, and marketing under a single organizational structure.
Creative production continued to grow during 2020 and 2021. According to the company’s published timeline, Moburst expanded its video and digital production services during that period while also broadening its marketing disciplines. By 2021, the company had developed a portfolio of over 20 digital marketing services. These services comprised paid ads, influencer marketing, search engine optimization, analytics, creative strategy, website development, and mobile application development. This growth is associated with a gradual evolution of the agency from a mobile to a digital marketing and technology-oriented business.
Several described campaigns show how creative production became one of the company’s core tasks. In 2018, Moburst was involved in the development of the Samsung Galaxy Apps campaign, where both creative content and user acquisition were applied within the Samsung application ecosystem. In 2019, the company helped create the SAY app, which earned recognition at the Effective Mobile Marketing Awards. In 2021, the company worked with Shopkick on a TikTok campaign, in which short-form video became the core creative asset. Based on the published case studies, the campaign was modified after its initial launch due to changes in creative content.
Industry recognition has also reflected the company’s expansion into creative production. The company received 18 Telly Awards in 2022 for video production and motion graphics, including several Gold and Silver Awards. The Telly Awards celebrate outstanding examples of creativity across television, digital video, brand content, and other related media. Although awards cannot be considered an indicator of business success, they serve as independent confirmation that projects have been assessed by industry judges against certain criteria.
Creative recognition continued after 2022. Moburst earned Gold accolades at the MUSE Creative Awards in 2024 for projects in website user experience, website redesign, and influencer marketing campaigns for NewDay USA, SYNLawn, and Truecaller. These projects represent different industries and project types; however, they all demonstrate a creative assignment undertaken by the firm rather than a specific campaign type. These accolades follow awards for video marketing and creative execution in previous years, demonstrating continuous recognition in design and digital communication award programs.
Expanding the company’s services was instrumental to its creative work. For instance, acquiring Layer in 2022 brought web and mobile application development into the company’s activities, enabling its design department to collaborate with engineers to develop its products. Following these acquisitions were those of Uproar PR in 2024, then Kitcaster and Rhythm Communications in 2025. These acquisitions expanded the list of services, combining creative production, development, marketing, and communications under one roof. All these acquisitions have brought different competencies, without affecting existing operations.
Both Gilad Bechar and Lior Eldan still head Moburst, even as the firm has grown to cover many markets and services. The company has been expanding its production capabilities over the past many years through acquisitions, organic growth, and the addition of new disciplines. Moburst’s experience is part of a trend in digital marketing in which digital agencies are increasingly combining creative design, video production, technologies, and performance marketing.
