who is Sherri Papini:
Sherri Papini was the mother of two when her family went missing on November 2nd 2016. On November 24th, she flagged down a motorist in Yolo County, California and managed to flag down the authorities, who led to the discovery of her husband Keith and his two young children, four days later.

Keith and Sherri were released from police custody without being arrested for any crime after detectives requested that charges be considered at a later date. Sherri, who was found chained and beaten, was released with a statement that her husband Keith was not involved in the abduction. On January 29th 2017 Sherri Papini turned herself into Yolo County Jail for a petty theft charge from 2003 later reduced to a misdemeanor and on February 6th 2017 she was sentenced to 20 days in county jail. On February 8th 2017 Sherri was released on bail and the family was allowed to return home.

Before she turned herself in, Sherri allegedly received a call from her mother who claimed she had been abducted and her family was found but did not mention any information about the threat to her. On January 4th 2017 police raided the home of Keith Papini, who claimed to have been out of town at the time his wife Sherri disappeared. After Sherri turned herself in police conducted a follow-up investigation and found no evidence to support the claims that she had been kidnapped. Keith was cleared of any involvement with her disappearance and on January 24th 2017 Sheriff Tom Bosenko told The Daily Mail that there were no suspects in her alleged abduction..

On November 2nd 2016, Sherri Papini was reported missing by her husband in Redding, California. Keith told police he had come home from work and found his children bound with restraints while his wife was missing. Keith claimed that the restraints were not there earlier that day and she left the house feeling upset. On November 8th 2016 anonymous tips led police to a witness who observed a woman driving alongside a motorist on Interstate 5 in Yolo County, California. The woman got out of her car and told the motorist that she was kidnapped and needed help. The two were unable to understand each other clearly because the woman was speaking Spanish and the motorist did not speak Spanish. The driver tried to call 911 but the woman left before authorities arrived. On November 18th 2016 a ransom demand was emailed to several local news stations, which demanded money in exchange for Sherri Papini’s release. The email stated that a ransom of $100,000 would be paid for her safe return. On November 24th 2016 Keith Papini called 911 and led police to his wife who had been abducted. He told police that the restraints were not there the previous day and she had been abducted. Sherri was found bound by restraints but she was able to free herself and flag down a motorist on Interstate 5, who directed Sherri to dial 911.

On December 1st 2017 Keith and Sherri Papini appeared on ABC’s 20/20 to tell their story of what happened during their abduction in November 2016. During the interview, Sherri revealed that she has been ordered to serve an 8-month jail sentence for charges related to her disappearance.

Final Words:
Sherri Papini claimed that she was sexually assaulted, before being chained by her captors and thrown off a cliff. The claims have been disputed by police who said they had found no evidence of sexual assault on the woman. Sherri’s sister-in-law, Sheila Koester was in contact with Sherri during their abduction and later said that her sister-in-law was not injured during their abduction as she had originally stated.
